High-Solids Epoxy Floor Top Coat

Introduction:

     A two-component, ambient temperature cure, high-solids epoxy top coat which is applied for coating on indoor cementitious substrates. When it cures, it forms a tough, hard and glossy finish, which is a seamless, smooth and easy to clean surface. The coat formed is resistant to many mild chemicals, oil and water. It allows good abrasion and impact resistances for the floor concrete, and easy to maintenance. As a low-VOC product, it is usually applied to coat the thin films (0.3-0.5mm) for light-duty floor top coatings, and available in custom color shades.

Application Procedure
   While applying Kingcoat FT-420HS coat, surface preparation is the most important part. Remove all the loose materials to expose the base surface. Wash the surface with plenty of water. A 10% muriatic acid solution wash should follow. Again wash the surface with plenty of water. Let the surface dry to saturated surface dry (SSD) condition. Fill all the cracks, honey-combs, voids etc, using cement mortar or our Kingbond repair compound. Let the surface dry completely and polish it with grinding leveling. Apply a coat of Kingcoat FP-210HS liberally by brush or roller over the surface. Allow the surface to be touch-dry. Mix the A and B parts of Kingcoat FIC-630HS thoroughly, to get a uniform consistency. Trowel the first coat over this primer coat. Allow the coat to cure for 12 hours. Again trowel the second coat over the first coat, preferably in a perpendicular direction to the first coat, and so on until the coating thickness. Let the coat dry completely and polish it with grinding leveling. Mix the A and B parts of Kingcoat FT-420HS thoroughly, to get a uniform consistency. Apply the first coat liberally by brush or roller over this intermediate coat. Allow the coat to cure for 12 hours. Again apply the second coat over the first coat, preferably in a perpendicular direction to the first coat. Let the system cure for 24 hours. Protect the treatment during the curing period from mechanical disturbances, water splashes, direct sunlight & heat.
